Social security and prevention of unwanted behaviour

The Polytechnic University of Jihlava is involved in a project within the framework of the Ministry of Education's CRP: Prevention of unethical behaviour on campus and promotion of competences in victim care, 2023, which aims to highlight the risks and introduce possible preventive measures of socially problematic and dangerous situations. The intention is to strengthen the resilience of institutions and individuals to types of unethical behaviour, and to improve the quality of the environment by implementing measures against the most common manifestations.

The output of the project is a series of 4 educational videos called You don't have to - you can. The episodes present model situations that you should not turn a blind eye to. The conclusion is always accompanied by an explanation by experts as to why the demonstrated behaviour cannot be accepted not only in a university environment but in real life.

It doesn't concern me

At work or quietly on the street, you may find yourself in a situation that doesn't feel right. The presence of a passive witness, also known as a bystander, is crucial. Why should we intervene in a tense situation? Why shouldn't someone else do it? Unfortunately, if we don't respond, it's likely that no one else will... And we are the ones who can step in and help someone in a given situation.
