The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic will present smart materials or the relationship between theory and experiment

TýDay of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is the largest&scaron&scaronší scientificý festival in the Czeché Republic, whichý includes leadingššševents, workští tí documentaries, films, workshops, scientific cafes and manyé other&scaroní activities, for example, all over the country and in&scaron&each& scientificý field. The festival, whose 3rd annual edition will take place from 6 to 12 September, will be held in the Czech Republic. November 2023, is intended for students of secondary &scaronácolleges, for whomé are prepared toé &scaronám lecturers;excursions in the morningá as well as the &scaroné public, for whom the program in the afternooná and eveningá times.

The College of Polytechnicéé Jihlava will kick off with aééé &scaroné associatedé with Týday of the CAS in úterý November 7, in the meetingé mí room of&scaroné colleges. Starting at 14.00, there will be aá šlecture by Ing. Ivan Krejčího, CSc., with his When Atoms Dance. On Wednesday, November 8, aá ofá those interested in science,ý research and technology await a block of twoá š lectures thatá will take place in the Historicé Auditorium. Starting at 2 p.m., nánáers can takeánálectures with Theory vs. Experiment, in which Prof. Miloslav Okrouhlík explains the relationship between theoretical models of physical phenomena and their experimental verification in physical reality. At 15.00 will then beáwatched by the headášho of the department of technicalýstudiesá doc. Radek Kolman with the Chytré materials in technicalé practice. „Smart materialsá exhibitá properties thatá can be changed iná controlledá manner by externalá stimuli, e.g.á mechanicalá voltageá or electricá or magneticá field. These include piezoelectric materials, shape memory alloys, electro-active hydrogens, or, for example, magnetostrictive fluids,doc.
