The study program Applied Technology for Industrial Practice provides you with a practically oriented bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering and control automation, especially focusing on design and manufacturing technology of products made of advanced materials and containing electronically controlled mechanical systems. During your studies you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical skills in a range of specialist subjects such as mechanics of bodies and systems, materials science, fundamentals of manufacturing technology, fundamentals of mechatronics, fundamentals of electrical engineering, fundamentals of computer science and, last but not least, fundamentals of management and project management. The curriculum is strongly practically oriented so that students gain a deeper knowledge and connection between theory and its implementation in practical problem solving during their studies.

Applications should only be submitted electronically via the e-applicationThe admission fee is 650,- CZK and must be paid no later than the closing date for applications of the given round (if you do not enrol, the fee will not be refunded). Further payment instructions (account number, variable symbol) find it in the electronic application. The fee must be paid again for each round of admissions.

Applications in the 2nd and 3rd supplementary rounds will only be allowed provided that the number of applicants already admitted in the 1st basic round has not been reached.

What subjects will you study?

A list of the courses you will take during your studies can be found in the Curriculum tab below on this page. The study also includes a long-term internship (14 weeks).

Conditions for admission to study are:

  • The condition for admission to study is achieving secondary education with a school-leaving examination (successful completion of the school-leaving examination at secondary school).
  • Applicants are admitted to study based on an application for study and proof of passing the school-leaving examination. The maximum number of students admitted to the study programme may total 78 in both study forms, with a maximum of 39 in the combined form of study. The date and time of application are decisive for admission to study within the maximum number of students.
  • Acceptance of applicants for study who are foreign nationals (except for Slovak nationals) is also subject to proof of knowledge of the Czech language. This knowledge can be proved by a school-leaving examination in the Czech language (successful completion of the school-leaving examination at a Czech secondary school) or by passing an entrance examination in the Czech language at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava. The exam consists of a written multiple-choice test (testing knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, max. 20 points) and an oral interview (understanding of the spoken word, ability to interact, and talking about the motivation, expectations and immediate needs of the student, max. 20 points).

For the full text of the admission requirements for the 2025/2026 academic year, please see HERE.

For more information on the Czech language exam, including exam dates, please visit HERE.

The admission procedure for the academic year 2025/2026 again includes the possibility of EXEMPTING applicants in difficult social situations FROM THE FEE for the acts related to the admission procedure. No fee will be charged to an applicant who meets the following conditions:
