The time we are given in this world in our body is limited. What will happen to our consciousness when this time is fulfilled? This is an eternal mystery that people have been pondering for millennia. But what happens to our bodies after death is something we can influence now. One option is to donate the body for scientific and educational purposes, so that it can continue to be used to further professional knowledge. One of the two special episodes of the Polytechnicast podcast, which we prepared on the occasion of the Night of Scientists 2021, was dedicated to the topic of body donation, in which we talked with our guest Prof. David Kachlík, M.D., Ph.D., professor of clinical anatomy at the Motol University Hospital, who also teaches at the Department of Medical Studies of the University of Applied Sciences and is the head of the Department of Anatomy at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
