Polytechnicast #14: Dr. MARKÉTA DUBNOVÁ AND Dr. JANA GABRIELOVÁ: We pay little attention to hearing impairment

Today we have again a great opportunity to present an interesting and beneficial project that was developed at the University of Polytechnic Jihlava. The guests of the 14th episode of the Polytechnicast podcast are Mgr. Markéta Dubnová, PhD., Head of the Department of Social Work at the VŠPJ, and Mgr. Jana Gabrielová, PhD., who works at the department as an academic. Both of them have significantly contributed to the preparation and implementation of a unique multidisciplinary project "New approaches, methods and technologies in the field of diagnosis and correction of hearing impairment in the elderly in residential social services facilities", which was supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and in which the staff of the Department of Technical Studies of the VŠPJ and other entities also cooperated. In the course of the interview, you will be introduced to the outputs of the project, which include a special methodology for working with clients, which is already used in some social service facilities in Vysočina, a mobile application for basic screening of hearing impairment, and also a conference Bliss for Better Times in Addressing Hearing Impairment in Seniors, which will take place on September 16, 2021, at the College of Education building.
