Development projects implemented in 2011

The project Support and Individual Development of Prospective Academic Staff at the VŠPJ is focused on academic staff who work in the disciplinary departments and are key and promising for the VŠPJ in terms of quality and professional provision of teaching in accredited programmes. Several academic staff members have been proposed for the project and are scheduled for further professional training, development and subsequent academic growth in 2011. The selected academic staff will have the opportunity to take study or sabbatical leave, participate in internships abroad and special training, conferences and seminars during this year.

The aim of the project Preparation of study programmes/disciplines in cooperation with enterprises is to expand study programmes according to the requirements of the labour market and business entities. This will strengthen the regional function of the VŠPJ, which as a non-university university is focused mainly on cooperation with the application sphere. The project is focused on the development of curricula in cooperation with practitioners from the public and business sectors for the combined form of study of the Bachelor's degree in Applied Informatics, which is already implemented at the VŠPJ in full-time form. Study materials will also be developed in cooperation with experts from regional companies in the field of engineering for the new bachelor's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering, for which a curriculum has been prepared.

The main objective of the project is to develop and innovate IT infrastructure with an emphasis on economy and efficiency in the use of resources. The project focuses primarily on data retention, i.e. sufficient and reliable backup and archiving of all data. The project also includes the implementation of the transition to the digitisation of the filing service and archives in accordance with Act No. 499/2004 Coll. The funds will be invested in the existing data storage infrastructure and the acquisition of digitisation hardware and software equipment.

The main objectives of the project are: completion of a school needs analysis (or revision of the school needs analysis from Q3 2010), a working meeting of the co-principal investigators to address the project, key steps of the project, and resolution of copyright issues with legal experts, etc., exchange of experience on procedural systems for detecting plagiarism with representatives from universities through a seminar, signing of bilateral agreements on cooperation, drafting of procedures, methodologies and rules for collecting works from authors and for dealing with procedures in case of positive findings of similar texts, uploading of the school's works to Repozitar.cz.

The main objectives of the project are: modification and supplementation of internal regulations (U3V Regulations and Lifelong Learning Regulations), support for publicity and promotion of U3V (new promotional materials), expansion of the range of study programmes (two new 4th semester programmes Graphics and Presentation on the Web and People and Region), expansion of the library fund, strengthening of the study support fund, exchange of experience with other U3Vs at universities.
