Development projects implemented in 2009

The project is made up of school-wide components: strengthening the network infrastructure, instructional programs, and the services the network provides to students, staff, and faculty. The project consists of the following components: I. Innovation and strengthening of the IT infrastructure, II. Expansion of the instructional software with new programs and licenses, III. Development of the school's information system by expanding it to include a module for quantifying academic activities and transitioning the school network to single sign-on authentication for users.

The main objective of this development project is the preparation and implementation of the EURASHE 2009 Annual Conference. EurASHE is the most important international partner for the University of Applied Sciences. In particular, it is through it that the HEI seeks new contacts and learns about new developments in the field of non-university tertiary education. The co-organisation of the annual Eurashe conference in the Czech Republic by the Jihlava Polytechnic University is an expression of the international recognition we have received in this way. The discussion on the conclusions of the meeting of the Ministers of Higher Education in Leuven and other possible directions for the development of European tertiary education will also be important for the development of the HEI.

The following steps will be taken within the project, which will lead to the detection of plagiarism in seminar papers: familiarization with the concept of the system, selection and appointment of a competent employee at the university - the administrator of the Odevzdej.cz system, conclusion of a bilateral agreement between the VŠPJ and Masaryk University on the use of the Odevzdej.cz system, preparation of the local environment, development of the methodology of metadata and data collection in the local environment, ensuring the import of metadata and works into the Odevzdej.cz system, testing the operation of the Odevzdej.cz system and the plagiarism detection service (for the purposes of the school).

The aim of the project for 2009 is to improve the quality of existing teaching, expanding the range of teaching. The interest of seniors in this issue was determined by a public opinion survey both in the regional city of Jihlava and in the surrounding towns and villages. For this reason, advertising is planned not only in the regional city of Jihlava, but also in the whole region. Within the framework of the project implementation, the quality of the courses offered will be improved (by purchasing new equipment, literature) and the existing range of courses will be expanded (new course on Mental Hygiene and Human Relations, Word for Advanced, Excel for Advanced, PowerPoint for Advanced).
