The external expression of the academic traditions of the College of Polytechnics are the insignia and gowns used on festive occasions, such as the academic ceremonies of the Rector's inauguration, the matriculation of students or the graduation of graduates.
The insignia are the rector's chain, the vice-rectors' chains and the sceptre. They are decorated with symbols recalling the historical heritage of the region: the symbols of a lion, a Moravian eagle, a hedgehog and a rowan trees are directly related to the regional coat of arms and the crossed hammers to the mining past of the Vysočina Region. The materials are also closely linked to the region - walnut wood, mother-of-pearl, silver, precious stones and gemstones from all over the Vysočina Region.
See photos of the insignia here and here. You can view the ceremonies in the photo gallery.
The Rector of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava has the right, after approval by the Academic Council of the College, to award the College of Polytechnics Medal as a recognition of personalities who have contributed to the dissemination of education and academic freedoms, in particular to the development of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, for significant activities at the College and relations to it, as well as for activities in areas related to the scientific, research, creative and pedagogical focus of the College. The meaning of awarding the medal is symbolically expressed in its artistic and craft design. The materials used (wood, silver line in authentic rock) and the historical significance of the silver veins for the city of Jihlava and the whole of Europe connect the first public higher educational institution based in the Vysočina Region with supra-regional links. The photos of the medal are here and here.
