Gender norms are making their way into elite sport. What bodies have historically been excluded from the Olympics and other sporting events, and what bodies are being marginalised today? The film opens up these questions through novel artistic means. The narrative is guided by a group of female athletes who travel back in time, entering archival footage and meeting notable non-normative runners and athletes from the last century that history has forgotten. Parallels are gradually drawn between their situation and the current discrimination against transgender athletes or the uneasy position of queer women in sport in general. The group accompanying the film offers a utopian alternative - forming a collective body that finds strength in connection and collaboration. This strength is illustrated by the stylization of the collective scenes and the energetic music at the opening and closing of the film.
