On Friday, 18 October, ten teachers of the Vysočina Region were awarded the title of Teacher of Vysočina 2024 in the Historical Auditorium of the University of Applied Sciences. The title is awarded for exceptional contribution to the development of education, exemplary work with students and an inspiring approach to teaching. Among the guests of honour was Martina Kuncová, Vice-Rector for Studies at the VŠPJ.
The Teacher of the Highlands is traditionally announced at the Polytechnic University Jihlava. Ten teachers from primary, secondary and elementary art schools in the Vysočina Region were awarded for their exceptionally high quality teaching activities, which were judged by an expert jury according to set criteria. "A short video documentary about their work with pupils was filmed with all the winners in advance. Personally, I was impressed by the diversity of their focus, in addition to the usual subjects (mathematics, computer science, English, etc.), teachers dedicated to teaching the violin or the professional craft of goldsmithing were also awarded," says Vice-Rector for Studies Martina Kuncová, who presented the award for not only inspiring contribution in teaching, specifically Bc. Eliska Havránková, DiS., a teacher dedicated to the professional training of goldsmiths.
