VŠPJ Cup reminded the passion of the first rector of VŠPJ Ladislav Jirků for baseball
The Week of Higher Education in Jihlava connected with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the VŠPJ was concluded by the Rector Ladislav Jirků Memorial - VŠPJ Cup from 7 to 9 June. The first year of the international baseball tournament, which is held in honour of the first rector of the VŠPJ and one of the founders of baseball in Jihlava Ladislav Jirků, took place in the Sports Complex of the Otokar Březina and Demlova Primary Schools within the framework of the project Sportujeme s VŠPJ. The event was supported by the Vysočina Region and the Statutory City of Jihlava.
Teams competing in the U13 youth category from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Germany came to play for the baseball traveling cup. After a thrilling duel in the final with Ježky Jihlava, the A-team from Austria won the final.Their members received the traveling cup from the Rector of the VŠPJ Zdeněk Horák and the Deputy Promoter of Jihlava Richard Šedivý.
