74 years ago on June 17, 1950, František Rod, Jan Tuček and Karel Veselý were executed by hanging in the courtyard of the then regional court, today's seat of the Jihlava Polytechnic University. In the great political trial that took place in Jihlava in February 1950, 23 men were tried, among them the academic sculptor Jaroslav Šlesinger, author of the sculpture Zaváté šlépěje (Veiled Footsteps) in the Central Cemetery in Jihlava. The manager for quality and development of the VŠPJ Ing. Iveta Slancová, MBA, honoured their memory by laying flowers at the sculpture. The funeral for the victims of the trials of the 1950s, organized by the Statutory City of Jihlava, was also attended, among others, by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil, and the Mayor of Jihlava, Petr Ryška.
