Graduates of the University of the Third Age's training courses begin their "holidays"

"We are proud of the University of the Third Age, which has been part of the VŠPJ for 20 years and was founded by its first rector Ladislav Jirků. During this time, nearly 7,000 seniors have been educated here in a variety of one- and two-year programs offering seniors education in foreign languages, history, travel, health science, computer technology, law, genealogy, psychology, art therapy, memory training, physical activities, digital technology, and many others." reflected the head of the Centre for Lifelong Learning of the University of Applied Sciences Mgr. Marie Marek.

The satisfaction of seniors with the organisation of education at the VŠPJ is evidenced by the ever-growing range of programmes and the increasing number of applicants. In the academic year 2023/2024, 520 participants were educated in 22 courses (19 courses at the VŠPJ in Jihlava and 3 courses at non-Jihlava locations). Certificates for the proper completion of two years of education were awarded to 55 graduates, and commemorative certificates for one year of active participation were awarded to 385 graduates. The graduation documents were handed over during the ceremonial acts held in the Historical Hall of VŠPJ on 28 and 29 May 2024. The certificates were received by the graduates from the hands of the Vice-Rector RNDr. Ing. Lenka Cimbálníková, Ph.D., MBA, in the presence of the highest representative of the university, Mr. Zdeněk Horák. The commemorative certificates were handed over to the graduates by the lecturers. The ceremonies were accompanied by the student anthem Gaudeamus igitur and a group photo session.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way to delivering courses for our lovely seniors, and we look forward to the opening of the newly developed 29 training programmes in September 2024.
