Students of the Jihlava Business Academy took part in a financial literacy tournament
Students of the third year of the Jihlava Business Academy strengthened their financial literacy in the first two weeks of May. Under the guidance of Dr. Lenka Lízalová from the Department of Economic Studies, they explained how to properly handle finances in various life situations through a tournament in the strategy game FinGrPlay.
Two third-grade classes participated in the game tournament, in which players become stewards of a model family's budget. In class 3OA the best players were Dominika Jonášová, Martina Pražská and Viktor Hošek, in class 3OB Eva Šimková, Petra Faktorová and Filip Šuhaj.
All the contestants took away the right attitudes towards finances, which the game conveyed to them and which are useful in their lives. The warning about consumer credit and the ease of falling into the debt trap had the strongest impact on the learners. Albert Einstein's quote, 'Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world', was also of great interest. Those who understand it profit from it, those who do not, pay for it."
