VŠPJ commemorated the anniversary of the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in Prague and Jihlava

The rector of VŠPJ Zdeněk Horák commemorated the anniversary of the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia on Saturday 28. October at the Hradčanském in Prague. He laid flowers at the statue of Tomáše Garrigu Masaryk in the rám of the Czeché Rectors' Conference.

A commemorative meeting on the occasion of the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the independent Czechoslovak state took place on Saturday 28. October in Jihlava. On behalf of the Polytechnic University Jihlava, the Vice-Rector for Internalí laid a bouquet of flowers at the statue of Tomše Garrigu Masaryk in Jihlava;, externalší and foreigní relations Václav Bácha. Dále was attended by the town's mayor Petr Ryška, the governor of the Vysočina Region Vítězslav Schrek, fromástupci of the Confederation of politicalýPrisoners' Confederation and members of the Association for the return of the TGM statue to Jihlava, which together with the town of Jihlava was the organizer of the event. The honorary side of the statue was held by the Sokolové Sokolové headed by Mayor Martin Zuzaňá.

The speeches thanked not only those who contributed to the establishment of an independent and free Czechoslovakia, such as Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Eduard Beneš and Rastislavštefánik, but alsoé those who created the conditions for the creation of Czechoslovakia in theálátimes before theálýsuch as Josef Dobrovský, František Palacký or Božena Němcová. They also reminded themselves that freedom and democracy are not a given in the world and wished the Czech Republic to always be a strong part of the European Union and NATO, and that the voices of populists and extremists would not be heard in the Czech Republic.
