VŠPJ participates in the European Sustainable Development Week

European Sustainable Development Day will take place this year from 20th to 26th September. 2023 and the Higháá škola polytechnická Jihlava will offer a number of awarenessá raisingá eventsá during and immediately before and after the day to promote sustainability.

Water Day in the Vysočina Region is a presentation event for members of the professional public and students of secondary and higher šThe event is organized by the Vysočina Region in cooperation with the Jihlava Polytechnic College, the Statute of the City of Jihlava and other members of the Vysočina Water Platform. The program of theá&day&providesáé leadingá& expertsá oná&water&mata&and¤tý&trends&in&the&area&ofá&use&of&waterý&metals&technologies&and&solutionsá.

The professional part of the Water Day in the Vysočina Region will be accompanied by an afternoon programme for the general public. Visitors will be able to see the Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo water-powered cars and the water-powered bus of the Slovak company Mobility & Innovation, which will be ready to transport the first passengers around Jihlava. There is no need to register for the afternoon event.

Fragile species, already suffering from the effects of climate change, are disappearing at a reversible rate. In Bolávii, theání stále is a legalální and poorly regulated practice. Czechý documentary filmmaker Martin Trabalý and Bolivianý filmmaker Geraldine Zambrana Velez took the camera to the frontý line of firefighting amongst volunteer firefighters who have become theý spokespeople for the globalý crisis.

On the occasion of the International Car Free Day, VŠPJ is planning a car free day on Fri. Iádádá 2023 inýinvite&employees&and&students&to&use&a&means&of&transportation&other&than&the&individual&car&transportation&to&the&scaron&college&and&the&scaron&college. The aim of the event is to highlight the šeterší transport options and to promote the reduction ofání motoring in urban agglomerations.

Do you believe that you can contribute to the sustainable development of the planet by reducing meat consumption in favour of plant-based food? Do you know that livestock consume more food than we produce from it? VŠPJ is therefore organising a vegetarianý day in the canteen to mark the European Sustainability Day.

VŠPJ is organizing a swap of clothes´ and books for students, staff and the šgeneral public. It will take place during the Academic Day in the premises of the Brewery Restaurant Jihlava. If you have nice pieces of clothing at home that you no longer wear but can be used for someone else, bring them to SWAP! Extend the life cycle of your clothes and save the planet and your wallet!

The event takes place on Academic Day and admission is free.

October 3, 2023 | Excursion at the Jihlava Recycling Centre | 13.00 – 15.00 hrs. | Hrušmetalé Dvory, Jihlava

On October 3, 2023, VŠPJ is organizing an excursion for its students and employees to the Jihlava line for the recovery of recoverable waste. The builtá line solvesá the currentá need of processingá materialá of materialá reusableý components, especially paperá paper, plastics and metals in the city of Jihlava and adjacent municipalities of the Vysočina region. The capacity of the facility allows for the processing and further use of a maximum of 10,000 tonnes of secondary raw materials per year. The company applies the principles of circular economy and circular economy.
