The Vice-Rector of the University of Applied Sciences commemorated the sad events of August 1968

It is exactly 55 years since the armies of the five communist countries of the Treaty of Var&scaroné invaded the then&scaroné Czechoslovakia and thus ended the reform period known as the Prague Spring. The attempt to reform socialism was suppressed and the people of Czechoslovakia lost their freedom for more than twenty years.

The invasion ofšak was not only the end of efforts to democratize the socialist system in Czechoslovakia. According to the sources of the Ú State for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, the August invasion resulted in a total of 137 deaths and about 500 serious and hundreds of light injuries throughout the Czeché Republic. The pro-rector of the VŠPJ Václav Bácza commemorated these sad events of August by laying a bouquet at the memorial plaque of Evžen Plock at Masaryk University in Jihlava.
