VICTORIA VSC celebrates International University Sports Day

VICTORIA High&scaroné sports´ center organized a Minuteá day of university´ sport celebration;vací event for the athletes involved in the duá´ project of the UNISMinistry of &scaron´, Youth & Sports. Apart from the students from the project, selectedá students from theá gymnasiumá were also invited with theirá fourth&year&year& students. In total, more than four hundred athletes participated in this educationalávací event.

Apart from the students from the project, selectedástudents fromágymnasiumáwithásportsáright witháfourth&year students were also invited. In total, more than four hundred athletes participated in this educationalávací event.

Mináá University Sports Day was recognized at the 38th Generaláá Conference of UNESCO in Paris in 2015. This date coincides with the beginning of the academic year in most of the world and is also the date of the first student world championship in 1924. The VICTORIA VSC event is part of the European Day of Sport and the European Year of Youth.

The aim of the UNIS project, which was launched in 2020, is to create the conditions for úý andú promisingú athletes with ú extraá athleticý abilityý to study and combine bothá year&yearý studyý requirementsý andá athleticý preparationý forá competitioný. „Personally, I consider sports to be an integral part of the educationánánáná and formáná of students, the development of relationships and lifelong friendships, and the opportunity to meetánáná faculty, for example. In this sense, the UNIS project has brought a new liveágiven activity to the high&scaroné environment, and I firmly believe that even in theseédifficulté times there will be room for cooperation between VICTORIA HighšCollege Sports Centre with the high šcolleges to develop the šjet, “ orderáká to project Minister of šcolleges Vladimír Balaš.

The event was held at the Královka Sports Hall, which has long been used by VICTORIA VSC as aágroundá for female athletes enrolled in the basketball section. We„wanted& to select someý really uniqueá space for this year&scaron&. I think we've done that. The capacity of the hall allows us to invite inše all the involvedé athletes, as well as to experienceát expertéšlecturers of the leading Czechýspecialists from míst, where duringápassports sit´ divá ci, is a greatá pleasure,“ explains iná theá director of VICTORIA VSC Lenka Ková řová

Eachá presentationá š was accompanied by aé discussioní. The lastá part was dedicated to the question of what it means to become a professionalá athlete and underlined the motto of the wholeá event: BE PROFESSIONAL, BE EDUCATED, BE VICTORIA. Ondřej Perušič, a freshý medalist from the European Championships in beach volleyball, whoý is one of the creatorsá of the UNIS project, also spoke to the athletes in the rá discussion.
