Taekwondo player Šmarda reached the quarterfinals of the European University Games

Student of the Applied Computer Science program at the Department of Technicalýý VŠPJ, taekwondist Marek Šmarda from´ý scales at the Europeaný university games in Polandé  Lodz dividedé 5. míhundred for úpart in the quarterfinalále. Together with otheršírepresentatives Matěj Kaman and Jan Fiala from Charles University heáwas just a step away from the medal fight at the Europeanéšampionátu. The European University Games are the biggest multi-sport event in European university sport. They are held under theá& &scaron& title& of the Europeané& Association of University Sport and are organised in selectedý& sporting& sectors. This yearšníyear over 169 students from 15 Czechýuniversitiesšcolleges fought for medals in a total of 16 sports from 17 to 30 July. A record number of Czechá iný right brought back 17 medalsá from &scaroná ampioná. The next&scaroná annual Europeaný Universityý Games will be held in Debrecí nu and Mi&scaron& kovec in two years.
