Department of Social Work ran for Barka - home hospice

Members of the Department of Social &ální práce VŠPJ took part in the 5th annual Run for Bárk – homeácí hospice on Saturday, June 18, 2022. The  rámci charity run, whichý is partást´ of theýnationwideýhabits of Runs for Hospice, completed the three´mile course at the Water´ Ráj waterpark inJihlava, thus joining the tensýtkám other&scaron& í runners of differentýageýcategoriesí who have completed theý despite the highé summerý temperatures. Their úpartí at the event financially supported the operation of the service Bárka – domácí hospice, whichá throughá medical´, socialální, psychological and spiritual support enables seriously and terminally ill people to live out the last years of their lives at home with their loved ones.

„We have been involved in the run in variousé configurations for the thirdé time. The Hospice fallsá under the Regional Charity Jihlava, whichá is aá iná significant partner organizationá and graduates of the Healthá Socialá work there. Many of ouršich students thusé their professional practice there,“ uvádí Dr. Martina Černá from the Department of Socialální práce, whoá took part in the run together with anotherší three colleagues, and dále complements: „Hospice as such&é deserves a lot of support and in herás view it is importanté to highlight the issue of palliativeé and hospiceé care and talk about umírání, specially about  dignity of umárání in the homeácí environment.“
