Aid to Ukraine

TREMULARLY UPDATEDÁNO The Polytechnic & Polytechnic & Polytechnic College Jihlava strongly condemns the Russian aggression and expresses its solidarity with the Ukrainian citizens. VŠPJ on Monday, February 28, 2022, in cooperation with the Food Bank of the Vysočina Region, launched a collection of durable food and hygiene goods for people affected by the war in Ukraine and on Wednesday, February 1, 2022. 3. 2022 collection of mobile phones in cooperation with Vodafone. 
MONTIMELY UPDATEDÁNO

  • The Polytechnicá šcolleges of Jihlava strongly condemns the Russian aggression and expresses its solidarity with Ukrainian citizens. Led by the šcola, the šcola has already fully joined the  prohlášení Czech Rectors' Conference, of which the rector of VšPJ Václav Bácha is a member.

  • There are more than thirty students of Ukrainian nationality currently studying at VŠPJ, mostly students of Applied Computer Science and Tourism. For many years the Department of Tourism of VŠPJ has been cooperating with the Department of Tourism Infrastructure and Management of Hotels and Restaurants of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communications of Uzhhorod University. Students of both departments got to know each other during joint workshops in the Vysočina Region and in Zakarpattia, Ukraine. „We are thinking about ourše in thisé difficulté time and we would like to show ourše support and solidarity to Ukraine,“ said the head of the Department of Tourism of VŠPJ Eva Janoušková. The Ukrainian students of VŠPJ are contacted by the interáý department, which collects their suggestions and requests for help. These include both economic and psychological assistance, which is offered to šem students and staff by the šcolleges Counselling & Career & Counselling Centre at VŠPJ through the academic & psychological counselling centre.

  • Currently there  are probíhá a number of steps in helping people affected by the vá lash in Ukraine. We are exploring the possibilities of accommodationání, financialá and materialá assistance to both our students and the people of Ukraine. rním the city of Jihlava and the Vysočina Region in order to be as effective as possible,“ said Rector Václav Báča.

  • Major nonprofit organizations working with migrants in the Czech Republic have joined together to create one centralální aid coordination hub for the current crisis in Ukraine. Thanks to the cooperation with the Czech.Digital platform, a simple online “marketplace” for www.pomahejukrajine.cz aid has been created. Individuals and organisations can offer their help (interpreting, accommodation, material assistance, etc.) here. Someé offersé will be made public and can be responded to by those who need help. Other offers will be processed by service organizations or municipalities. This is the main´& aid&coordination&meeting&agreed&on&by&all&major&non&profit&organizations&and&initiatives.

  • Universityá šcollegesá polytechnicá Jihlava is organizing a materialá collectioná to whichá students and employees of VŠPJ as well as members of theá public can contribute from Mondayá February 28, 2022. The Šround of the collection will be organized in cooperation with Food Bank of the Vysočina Region. This non-profit organization is the main coordinator of public food collections in the region in cooperation with the Crisis &scaronátáb of the Vysočina Region. Food aid´ supports individuals and organizations providing´ accommodation´ and shelter in ú the ú country´ of the ú naše region and equips organizá tors providingá transportation of refugees from the Slovaký Ukrainianý border.

    It is possible to contribute to the collection with any durable food and hygiene supplies, the list of which will be specified by the Food Bank of the Vysočina Region according to the current needs. According to the chairman Miroslav Krajcigra, the food bank has enough drugs, sleeping bags, blankets, clothes and children's prams, stáHowever, there is a shortage of food, especially canned food or instant poléch polévek, noodlesí, ka&scaron& í and other&scaron& ích jídel.   • VŠPJ, in collaboration with Vodafone, has organised a mobile phone collection, which is again open to students and staff, as well as members of the public.

  • How to get involved

If you have an unusedý working phone at home, just bring it to the VŠPJ (hours of operation Mondayý-Saturday 06.00-20.00) by Mondayý7 March. Just pack the phone in the bag together with a compatible charging case before handing it in.

  • Howéé cané phones beérat&ed?

It doesn't matter whether it is a newý or oldší phone. The important thing is that it is fully functional and does a good service to people in need.

  • What will happen to the phones dít?

We will hand iná phones in person to Vodafone on the afternoon of Mondayá 7 March 2022.

Vodafone will put eachý of the handedý phones into factoryá – settings – i.e. professionally erase allškerá data. It is equipped with a prepaid SIM card worth 500 CZK. Through the means ofá non-profitý organisationsá it toá Ukrainianý refugeesá whoá haveá alreadyá arrivedá or iná theá followingá days toá safetyá iná the&Czech&Republic&and&for&some&reason&they&do¬&have&a&phone.
