VŠPJ will elect a new rector in January

Candidateát for rector doc. Zdeněk Horák has been working at VŠPJ since 2015, currently as the head of the Department of Technicalý and the guarantor of the study programme Appliedá Technology for Industrial Practice in bachelorá and follow-up masterá degrees. His vision of the directionání šcolleges is presentedí doc. Horák to the academicé community at a public meeting on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He will take over the scepter from the hands of the present Rector, Prof. Bá or in July.In case aá candidateá doesá notá enoughá votes during the election, a newá election will be called.

VŠPJ wants to expand the range of career-orientedýstudies and place an emphasis on qualityýlearning. This is also the aim of the election programme of Assoc. Horáka. „I will support inškeré meaningfulé efforts to expandší the portfolio of studyí programs at VšPJ, so that they are onšgraduates are highly valued by tech-savvy employers,“ added to the candidate for rector's priorities. Among other&scaroní includeé soé posí cooperationá with  application´ sfé rou, professionalý and qualification´ growth of&scaron&colleges&workers&or&support&iný construction&of&new&highý colleges.

Doc. Zdeněk Horák graduated in 2001 from biomedicalénské and rehabilitationé engineeringýrství at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He completed his doctoral studies in the field of biomechanics there. In 2015 he habilitated at his alma mater as an associate professor in the field of appliedé mechanics. He has long been involved in, among other things, materialsýhuntingýresearch, designýand testýof machineryýcomponentsýand medicalýdevices. Since 2014 he has been working as an expert in the field of forensic biomechanics and technical condition of implantable medical devices. In addition to VŠPJ, Horák also teaches at the 3rd Faculty of Surgery of Charles University.
