The Department of Tourism continues its projects with Donau-Universität Krems. Students can complete their compulsory internship or find a topic for their bachelor thesis

The Department of Tourism of the VŠPJ in cooperation with the Department of Geography of the South Bohemian University in České Budějovice and Donau-Universität Krems is completing this year the interdisciplinary project; project with the Memorial preparedness for German-speaking clientele supported by the Small Projects Fund of the Interreg V-A Austria-Czech Republic Programme. Together with the Austrian partners, the Department has recently succeeded in securing support from this fund for the follow-up project Partnership of cities to strengthen cross-border regional development. Students of the Tourism programme can participate in all project activities – fulfill part of their compulsory internship or from´skat zaímavé téma bacheloráGreeképráce. 

In the academic year 2020/2021, the Department of Tourism of the VŠPJ implemented a joint Interreg AT-CZ project in the framework of the Small Projects Fund under the name Readiness of the memory for German-speaking clients. In the rámce of the project, two terénní šetrení, úwaterí and záeterný workshops could unfortunately not be realized due to the epidemicé situation. The academicý staff of the department succeeded in establishing a follow-up project Partnership of cities to send´cross-border regionalá&development, which is similarly designed and will be launched in August this year.

In early July, a joint meeting with the Austrian partners determined the course of project activities, which will of course depend on the current epidemic situation and related preventive measures. In the termí of 6-8 October 2021, theú water andá watchý workshops will be held in Jihlava, Slavonic and Kremž. šcolleges of Polytechnicé Jihlava and South Bohemiaé University of Českéýéé, which is another&scaroné partner of the project. Theé representativesé ofé publicé servicešný institutionsé representingé public administration, tourism, cross-borderé cooperation, NGOs, etc. The programme will also include aávštion of selectedýattractions in the area of theání event.

The Workshop will officially launch the Partnership of cities to promote cross-border regional development. Also in this project three five-day events took place in Trebon, Retz and Lednice. In plánu is alsoé cabinetý iný research focused on, for example, the analysis ofýzu webýpages ofápartnerýcities or the acquisition ofádku a/vs. The first event will take place on 22.-26. 11. 2021, then in 2022.

Department of Tourism offersý itsý students the opportunity to participate iný še listedý projectsý activities;they can thus fulfill some of theáé compulsoryé internship or fromáé toáé té té bacheloré prá ce. Involvement in the projects allows for newé knowledge in the field, but alsoé specificé information about theétéoutýorésitesémonitored. Last but not least, the cross-border dimension of these activities, both in terms of knowledge, personal and linguistic, can be considered positive. The ability to communicate in German is inátá notá butá aá condition for theá involvement&andá becauseá interpretationá or translation will be provided for theá event. As both projects are co-funded by the European Union, the financial contribution from the students can be considered symbolic.

„We offer the students an activity of a similar character to our international workshops with Ukrainian Uzhorod or Austrian V Austria or Mexico expeditions. We strive to give them as many opportunities as possible to meet in practice the issues they study,“ said the head of the Department of Tourism, RNDr. Eva Janou&scaronšková, Ph.D.
