Rector of the VŠPJ Václav Báča honoured the memory of executed political prisoners

In pátek 18. June 2021, the rector of the VŠPJ Václav Bácha commemorated the Únkové event at the Úmiddleícemetery in Jihlava on honouringá the memoryá of executedý citizens of Jihlava Karl Veselého, Jan Tucek and Františka Rod.

71 years ago on June 17, 1950, Rod, Tucek and Veselý were bothšením executed in the courtyard of the thenší regionalé court, onšní dayšní withšcoly polytechnicé Jihlava. In a largeém politicalém trial, whichém probíhal in Jihlava in únor 1950, 23 men were tried, among them  academicý sculptor Jaroslav Šlesinger, the author of the ší Zaváté šlésinger sculpture at Úmiddleí cemetery in Jihlava. The rector of Bácha honored their memory by laying flowers at this statueáí and the graves of individualých executedých. The funeral was attended by representatives of the Vysočina Region, the Czech Union of Freedom Fighters and the Confederation of Political Prisoners and the Statute of the City of Jihlava, headed by Mayor Karol Koubová.

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, a memorial service was held to honor the memory of the executed young Jihlava citizens convicted in the mock trial in Tyršstreet behind the VŠPJ building. A bouquet of stones was laid at the memorial of Smí&rcí by the vice-rector for studies Jana Borůvková together withthe head of the rector's office Miloslav Vytasil.
