Veronika Hedija appointed Associate Professor in Business Economics and Management

Higherá šcolleges of polytechnicá Jihlava celebrateú úrush of one of itsýacademicýworkers. Veronika Hedija from the Department of Economic Studies at VŠPJ úšspedšnlyšpassedšhabilitation´šm and defendedám before the Scientific Council of the Business and Entrepreneurship; Faculty in Karviné, Silesiané University in Opava her habilitation thesis with the title Genderá wage gap and the influence of genderá manager on the gender wage gap. With effect from April 1, 2021, she was thus appointed Associate Professor in Businessá Economics and Management.

doc. Ing. Veronika Hedija, Ph.D.

Doc. Hedija is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at Masaryk University in Brno, where in 2008 úšy she completed her PhD studies in Economics. She started her teaching activity in 2003 at MUNI, later she worked at the College of Commerce and Hotels and the Brno University of Technology. At the College of Polytechnicéé Jihlava, she started doc. Hedija started working in 2008.

At the Department of Economicý Studiesý atšPJ, she teaches the courses Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, whiché she supervises and for which she has created an interactiveý e-learningý course. She is also theé guarantor of the Academicé writtení course. Since 2018, she has been the guarantor of the study programme Economics and Management, Finance and Management, and since 2019 she has been the guarantor of the newly accredited study programme Finance and Management. During her teaching career, she has taught the courses Economics of Management & Industry, Tourism, Finance & Industry and Investments, and Corporate Finance.

In heré researché activities, Hedija focuses on the economicé aspects of genderé issues. Her mainý areas ofá interest includeá researchá intoá wageý differences between men and women and theá discoveryá ofá differences. It is intensively focused on the issue of women in management and the impact of this factor on wage differences and corporate performance.
