In cooperation with the Central šschool of economics and tourism Jihlava (ŠECR) was prepared by the Department of Tourism on the occasion of the International Guides' Day commented video tour of Jihlava. Howé wereé theé circumstances of itsé creation and whyé theé choice fell on this formé you will learné in an interview with the mainé organizer of the event Dr. Alicí Šediva Neckářová from the Department of Tourism at VŠPJ.

  • Howá is the history of the involvement of the Department of Tourism of V&Scaron& PJ in the celebration of the International Guides' Day?"

This year, we joined the celebration of International Guides' Day in the afternoon. Every year, in cooperation with the city of Jihlava and Asociací guides of the Czech Republic, we carry out guidedé tours of Jihlava for the public, whiché are moreé visitedé year after year, which is veryé. Every year, the Guides' Day is organized and implemented by the KCR, consisting of Ing. Martina Doležalová, RNDr. Eva Janoušková, Ph.D., ak. mal. Vladimír Netolička, RNDr. Mgr. Stanislava Pachrová, Ph.D., Ing. Alice Šedivá Neckářová, Ph.D.

  • When was it obviousé that this year you would be compelled to celebrate International Guides Day differently than in previous years?"

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic and a wave ofáá measures, it was already clear at the end of 2020 that the public guided tours would not be able to take place this year. Therefore, we have chosen as an alternative at least the realization of a virtual tour, which can be watched from the comfort of home. We believe that theální prol´dka Jihlava could most´t širší appliedí. It could be used, for example, by theápositiveá šcolleges from Highlands in theárámce ofá primaryá science when they learn about theiréregionalécity.

  • The students from the Secondary School of Economics and Tourism Jihlava collaborated on the video. It was the first joint project of your&scaron& í department with this&scaron&college?"

In the past, we have had presentations at ECR Jihlava  on its study program as well as at other high schools . This year I was given the opportunity to reach out to the šschool and try to establish a more intensive ší collaboration. The firstá joint activity is the firstá guidedé tours for the public during the International Guides' Day. Theá intensiveá cooperationá of the twoá circles has worked well and we would definitely continue the á rá di in the á future, whether during theá celebrationá of the Internationalá Guides' Day or otherý projects.

  • How long have the students been involved in theýproduction of the video, and in what form?

We have been working intensively on the celebration of the Interáá&birthday of the Probí&hall Guides since about October, and we have been working intensively on the preparation and actual production of the video for about a month. The students who were interested in guides volunteered to participate in the information system. On Wednesday, 10 února, we had a testška, when we šli with the students šd the „dummy“ without a camera. The next day was the first day. And in basically by týday Iáme video finishedé.

  • How did the actual filming go?

He had previous complications where he had had to be some times recently to change t guides due to Covid-19 illness or quarantine . Some of the guides had very little time, yet they handled the úround very professionally. They arrived at the rehearsal inštheirš perfectly prepared´, unfortunately theá weatherá didá notá. Even on the shootingádayáday the temperatures were strongly below freezing, sometimes it was snowing, it was blowing inátr – this made it very difficult for the cameramen, but of course also for the guides.

Throughout the whole time we soé consistently followed the antié measures, but this did not complicate the course iný differentý ways – prá that's why we chose this form of theá inspection. We were inšich atšrouškátors and respirátors all the time during the test. On the natá day, the guides took off theirý protectiveé equipment for the necessary period of time, of course keepingá sufficientá distance from others.

  • How do the probís of theýsites thaté are captured in the video?
We tried to make the tour last 10 minutes maximum, which we managed to do. This was also adapted to theýqualities of the guides, whiché are very brief. As is evident from the  animation in the video, the sites are ordered according to the usualé route of the tour, which is usually taken by a guide from the  staff of the KCR VŠPJ.

We strongly believe that the video tour will líbit and thank všem collaborators and students for their perfect´cooperation throughout theé event. Ráda I would like to mention in particular my colleague Dr. Stanislava Pachrova, whoá was in charge of the overall coordination of the event and communication with Associationí Guides of the Czech Republic. A greatý dí to the managementí of ŠECR, namely the director of šcoly Ing. Vítek, and the statutoryární city of Jihlava, whichánád someá memorials.

Most&scaroný thanksá belong& to&scaroný all&scaroný students involvedý in&the&creation&of&the&video&as&guides&and&camera&makers. I was also very pleased with the positive feedback I received from them. I believe they enjoyed the film as much as I did and it was not the last event we had the opportunity to collaborate on.
