Elections to the Academic Senate of the University of Applied Sciences are approaching

Highé šcolleges are democraticé institutions, and their highestššším selfávným orgát is the academicásenát. The candidate list can be submitted by Thursday, 12 November at 14:00 to the VŠPJ. The candidate list will be published no later than 16 November 2020. The newly elected Academicý Senateá of V&Scaron& PJ will then meet for the first time on Wednesday, December 16, 2020

Currently, there are 4 active students from theá studentá chamber representingá majors and programs, for example, whoá are actively involved iná eventsá related toá collegeá &development. The goodé functioningá ofá &scaron&college&dependsá oná howá muchá Iá careá aboutá itsá functioning;Theá ofá theá representatives&of&the&academic&community– thená theá ofá theá of&the&students&is&most&important. Therefore, it is very important that students go to the AS elections, run for the senate and after the elections, take care of how their representatives in the AS work, keep in touch with them and give them suggestions for their work.

AS Members

Members of the Academic Senate may be elected from amongst themselves by any member of the academic community, i.e. a student or academic staff member. This selfá organá consists ofá academicá staffá and students. Students electá fromá the studentá chamber of the sená chamber of the academicá staffá chamber of the academicá. Academicý sená t VŠPJ is composed of 5 students and 10 academicý workers. Senátors are elected for threeáyearé terms. The Academicý Sená elects itsé president and two m´ stop&chairs – one from the studenté and the other from the academicé chamber. AS meetingsání are publicá, meaning that any member of the academicá community is inání at the meeting.

Powers and Duties of the AS VŠPJ
