The management of VŠPJ commemorated the events of 21 August 1968

The Rector of the Polytechnicé školy polytechnicé Jihlava prof. Václav Báča today symbolically laid a bouquet of flowers at the memorial plaque of Evžen Plock at Masaryk nácityí in Jihlava as a reminder of theálostí on 21 August 1968.

This was on the Day of Remembranceá of the victimsá of the invasion and theá aftermathá of the occupation by the troops of the Var&scaroné Treaty, when the Czech Republic commemorates theá sadá of the Augustá events of 1968. At that time, more than 500 000 troops from the Var&scaroné Treaty of Var&scaroné countries entered ú the Czechoslovakiaé landá and occupied the entireé republic. For more than two decades the citizens of Czech Slovakia lost their freedom, the attempt to reform socialism was suppressed and the troops left the Czechoslovakia only in 1990.

„I believe that it is aýsostnýhumanýprávm to freely decide one'sé future without fear that this decision´ will not be respected or will even be sanctioned by repressioná and náforce´m. With great concern and with some reminiscence of the time 50 years ago, I am therefore following the latest events in Belarus, where there has been an increase in the number of people who have been killed;persecution of citizens striving for freedom and democracy,“ the rector of Bácha also pointed out the current political problems resonating in Europe.

Flower laying at Masaryk University was also attended by other ú representatives of ú ú colleges, namely Vice-Rector doc. Zdeněk Horák, vice-rectors Mgr. Alena Štěrbová and Dr. Jana Borůvková and the President of the Academicá Senate of VŠPJ Dr. Hana Vojá together with academicý staff members of šcollege.
