VŠPJ students helped in a home for the elderly even during a pandemic
Three female students of Všeobecná nurse Miroslava Březinová, Lucie Kapounová and Nikola Dvořáková joined the Home for the Elderly Pelhřimov (DPSP) during the pandemic of Covid-19 and took care of its clients. The students were actively involved in the care of the elderly in palliative care and with cognitive impairments, which helped them to overcome a difficult period in the organization's staffing.
Three female students of Všeobecná nurse Miroslava Březinová, Lucie Kapounová and Nikola Dvořáková joined the Home for the Elderly Pelhřimov (DPSP) during the pandemic of Covid-19 and took care of its clients. The students were actively involved in the care of the elderly in palliativeí care and with impairments in cognitiveí functions, which helped them to overcome the difficulté periodý iný personnelá in the organization.
DPSP Director Petra Kratochvíálov&/strong> appreciates that the students were willing to care for a náyear-old group of clients and serve even in times of ýlá šené risk: „I am ráda that the ladies haveáo práci in the field of práy and are willing to engage in páif for the weakest&scaron& í even in náyearly.“ Joining themí and the headí of the Department of Healthý VŠPJ Vlasta Dvořáková: „ both Miroslava and Lucie cooperateí with the Pelhřimový home for the elderly for a long time, and during May, Nikola joined themšte on their recommendation. I really appreciate their commitment and I am really proud of them.“

Helping at the senior home was an obvious choice, for several reasons. I did my internship here until šcolla, but most importantly, I spent two previous summers working here. Ráda I go back there because of the goodému collective, but soáci with oldšípeople. The biggestší reward for me is their úlaughter and gratitude in their eyes. Iám this práci very much ráda.
I have been involved in both nursing and caregiving activities. Mostly in the secondé halfé of the pandemic, help was needed in té theé of theé nurses, due to the PPE of some of them and soé theé splité of theé workers into groups thaté did not meet at all. One of the most difficultšíthingsí about the wholeé situation was to stay on top of things´, not to transferášet their concerns to the clients. Anotherší non´ situationí, although very necessary, was the nošení of roušs that were a bit of a nuisance in the prá but more importantly were a complication for communication with clients. For most of them, whoí are accustomed toí respondí because of their hotí hearing, this was and is veryí unpleasant.
After completing my studies at the VŠPJ mám prearrangedámáhundred for the nextáintensiveápétime, where I believeám going to gatheráa lot& ofáexperienceáand maybe one day returnátám to the seniors again.

I have been coming to the Home for the Elderly in Pelhřimov as a caregiver for two years. I enjoy communication and cooperation with people the most. During the epidemic, this práce has been very náy mentally and physically, both for the náy with health problems and for the clients of the home who could not get back to their families. I am ráda that I was able to bát the clients at that time and in myáway replace their family. After graduating from VŠPJ, I would ráda worked in a hospital in the interním ward.

This práce is very fulfilling for me. Ráda helpsáhám people, both oldáím and children, so I turned to a home for the elderly since the hospitals were closed. I worked at the home as a caregiver - feeding the clients, helping them with hygiene, going out on the terrace with them so they could get some fresh air. Since I had never worked in a home for the elderly in a twelve-hour shift before, it took me quite a few years to get used to the conditions there. But práce with the oldápeople there I really enjoyed it.
After graduating frománá tétoácolleges I would like to work as a vágeneralá nurse in the interná ward. If I wanted to study, I would specialise and work as a midwife because I love children. I chose this field because I enjoy working with people and I am interested in how our body works. I am ráda that I chose this šcola and this field - I am very happyá.
